On chilly Autumn day in Weston Creek, the season took an interesting turn for both teams involved as a so far inconsistent Narrabundah team held and perhaps should have beaten the previously unstoppable Weston Creek.

A mild Saturday greeted the players as they congregated at a Narrabundah pitch now clearly bearing the scars of the rugby season. Opting not to chose the pitch that had served them so poorly against Olympic, Narrabundah management instead chose the greener of the two fields, although they soon found the lush grass was a result of a small brook running through the center of pitch.

On another beautiful autumn day in South Canberra, a luckless Narrabundah put in a much improved performance against a well organised and energetic Woden Valley team. After initially taking the lead with some good pressure high up the park, Narrabundah conceded two soft goals before the break before rallying well in the second half, only to be undone by a quick counter attack at the death.

It was another brilliant Canberra Autumn day for Narrabundah’s first home game of the season, but disappointingly the home side slumped to a draw with an Olympic side that had already been on the end of a couple of hidings this season.
